Shift Maintenance Engineers. - Plant & Equipment - Commercial Vehicles

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Engineering Department for a Shift Maintenance Engineer in both Heavy Plant & Equipment and Commercial Vehicles. In these roles you will use your engineering skills to carry out planned and reactive maintenance in the servicing, repair and refurbishment of either HGV’s, forklift trucks, commercial vehicles and mobile equipment or linkspans bridges, passenger boarding bridges, quay cranes.

As the Shift Maintenance Engineer you will provide an on-call service outside of rostered shift times and support Operations by providing excellent engineering services to optimise the condition and availability of Port Equipment and Vehicles.

Key Requirements

·      Undertake engineering operations in the alteration and modification of heavy plant, machinery, equipment and commercial vehicles

·      To ensure prioritisation of work to meet the business needs of the Port.

·      Ensure that all engineering operations enhance equipment safety, performance, availability and reliability.

·      Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, standard operating practices, with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.

·      Accurately book in and out items of stock, spares and parts from the stores using MAXIMO.

Who are we looking for?

Suitable applicants will have:

·         Minimum Level 3 Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds) or ONC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.

·         The ability to analyse and diagnose complex faults from limited data and history.

·         Ability to use general and specialised equipment, supervision and direct use of specialised tooling equipment.

·         Ability to organise work effectively and complete in the required time frame.

·         Full UK driving licence
